The engine is just too big to fit in the engine bay.Also the engine is designed for RWD cars and the 1998 Corolla is FWD.The closest thing I could find was a Datsun 280Z with an American V8 in it at modified cars.com.I would start with a Supra body as it has bigger brakes and a tougher chassis but I think you can get more horsepower and torque out of a Turbo straight six Supra engine by adding bigger turbos etc..than the AMG engine puts out and it would be cheaper.If you already own the AMG engine consider finding a full size Mercedes to drop it in.Starting with a car that has a similar transmission would make it easier.
