check engine light on 2002 corolla CE?

Default check engine light on 2002 corolla CE?
Check engine light is on but car is running fine.I went to AAMCO,they said they will check it for free.But now they are asking 170$.I took my car back from them.What should I do now?















where else can I go to check it?

go to autozone. they check it for free

advance auto....autozone...most napa's...oreilly's......all check the lights for free.......as do most garages and service stations......

AAMCO is a total rip off. I boycotted them years ago. Along with the hundreds of others I convinced to boycott it. Money is their God. Therefore I am NOT one of their customers!

Do NOT pay AAMCO to check on it. The same thing happend to me about two weeks ago on my 2002 corolla S. I have my car serviced at the dealer and it needed an oil change so I took it in. It was just a dirty sensor (I forget what sensor they told me), but they cleaned it with carburator cleaner and told me that it should be ok. I asked if it happened again if I needed to get it replaced, and they said no, that the car would run fine. To make sure, you can take it to a toyota dealer. They will charge you $40 to run a diagnostic on it. A lot less than $170.
