Default How much can Toyota 4runner(2004) roof rack can hold? What's the weight capacity?
IF I wanna put some luggage on top is it safe for long distance driving?

Luggage should be no problem in view that I have carried queen mattress and boxspring across town strapped down to the roof rack. It's also great feature to haul long extension ladders and if you use good sturdy rope...































I don't know about 50lbs but certainly 32 foot fiberglass extension ladder is heavier than that, and about all you have to watch & listen for is the weather conditons though once we were overcrowded coming back from Florida and the built-in roof rack came in handy...

ok, i have the 2003 model and i have stood on it and it supported my weight and i weigh about 135, on just one bar,i so i am sure it can take a lot more with 2 bars















i also have a luggage carrier on it and my family loaded it up, and id say it was a good 200 pounds...















so yes! you can carry luggage...
