Heard this as a prelude to the news tonight but didn't get to see the news item. Where is the rust problem on these vans?

spare tire cable will rust allowing the tire to come loose. So far I think it is only in the states that use salt.

At least 600,000 are now recalled "nationwide" because they have been rotting out on the underside where the cable connects the spare tire to the van, This causes the tire, and its fixture to simply drop off while driving, causing severe potential for accidents.--Hey at least you don't have a new Lexus Gx460. They are discontinued because Toyota designed them top heavy and they tip over while driving around pronounced highway curves. It's a shame. It seems almost all of the Toyota models are ruined. They simply are not safe.
