1996 toyota camry check engine light on ?

I shown to Amco transmission for check engine light. they asked me to replace catalytic converter for $1200. Is there any way i can resolve this problem very low cost or is there any one do this service very low cost ? please suggest me the service center who are doing very genuine and trusted persons.

That sounds like an original Toyota part and install cost. Go to your local muffler shop. They should be able to replace it with an aftermarket for less than $300.

You can buy an aftermarket replacement cat converter and have a muffler shop put it on. The dealer will burn you for it but somewhere else expect to pay around $500 for the part and labor. You might get lucky and pay less.

Also, cats are not really supposed to fail so that means you car may have an internal oil, fluid leak somewhere in the engine that is causing your oxygen sensor to give a reading.

It sounds like you didn't go for another opinion. Did Ammco guarantee that a new cat would solve your check engine light? There could be additional problems.
