So if we put the jumpers on my battery backwards, what did we fry?
I left the lights on in my 2000 Toyota RAV4 and, when the car died, I asked someone for a jump. I put my cables on my car without checking to see if hers were on her car in the right order. When she turned on her car, we saw smoke and one of the cables was burnt.
Of course, the car wouldn't start after that. It seems we fried something.
So the question is, what does one normally fry when one puts her jumper cables on backwards?
As it turns out, we didn't fry anything, except of course, my jumper cable. The rest of the battery just needed to be charged!
Thanks for your help though.
