Consider it was new a decade ago. Since it has 80,000 miles it has already (or should have) gone thru major inspection. A good way to tell how well preserved a car is is by looking at the interior. Take a look at the steering wheel, if it shows wear and tear, imagine how the engine itself is.
The price should be in the range of 3 - 6 k (USD), but it might not be the best deal. Although Toyotas, if taken to the dealer for service frequentely they last for long, if not, then no. Ask the vendor to show you the maintenance history, that will give you a better idea. You might also want to take the Camry to a Toyota Dealer for inspection and diagnosis. Even if they charge you 100 dollars for that (not suggesting a price), it's safer to invest on that than rather suffering from a bad decision.
