I had the same problems on two new Toyota's I bought. They had a multitude of electrical problems, I lemon lawed the first one with less than 5,000 miles on it. It was an electrical nightmare, and the dealership had the attitude "not our car". I was able to force them to buy it back under Washington states lemon law. It would take off while cruise control was engaged, lights wouldn't work, the radio would quit, battery was dead on more than one occasion etc etc.
The second was purchased because I thought it was a fluke thing. It leaked fuel, would stall, and I had enough at that point, it went away with less than 8,000 miles on it. Both were Corolla's, never again will I buy a Toyota.
