TOYOTA CAMRY A.B.S. brakes - can they be disabled?

Default TOYOTA CAMRY A.B.S. brakes - can they be disabled?
Due to a mechanical problem with my car, I have a lend of my Dad's 2010 CAMRY. The roads that I drive are gravelled country roads and the ABS system keeps kicking in even under medium braking. This is rather distracting and not desired on gravel.































Is their any way to disable the ABS system short of pulling the relay for it.

Lindsey - it was Dad that asked me to pose the question. The ABS is overly sensitive when these roads get muddy.

Thats the best way to do it...Though I don't advise disabling the ABS.

Pulling the relay is the way to do it.































But perhaps you should not wait until the last second to step on the brakes. If you stop gently, and appropriately to the road conditions, the ABS shouldn't be kicking in. The ABS is there to help shorten your stopping distance, if you disable it, your wheels will lock up and you will be sliding on the gravel which can be dangerous.

I don't believe that it's the cars problem that the ABS are kicking in, learn to brake sooner and you might now have that problem. I drive dirt roads regularly and I don't have problem with my ABS acting up. Just leave it alone, it's your father's car you don't want to go messing with it, he was nice enough to loan it to you.

There have been many "hidden" complaints concerning the Toyota ABS system. They are electronically defective like most electronic parts on all Toyotas in the last 10 years. Corollas are now reporting the same problem, where the ABS kicks in for little or no reason at all, making driving the Toyota, a very poor experience. No other car makers have reported these problems. Thus the massive Toyota recalls...all of which involve defective cheap electronics made overseas and bought by Toyota to save a buck at your expense. Take my advice, these 2010 Camry's are lemons, and your troubles are just beginning if you keep it. But best of luck anyway.
