Are there kits to upgrade a Toyota Camry engine?

Default Are there kits to upgrade a Toyota Camry engine?
I have '97 Camry LE, am looking for a kit to increase displacement, increase compression, different cams and so on. Or will have to shop for the parts myself before I take the engine to the machine shop? thanks in advance

Unfortunately there is not a kit for engine upgrades. Your best bet is to research the parts on line first and some of the set ups come as a kit.

STOP! They don't exist and never will! Want to upgrade your Camry? Do a 3S-GTE swap. That's the 2.0 litre turbocharged engine used in the Celica All Trac and MR2 Turbos. It is rated at 200 horsepower in stock form. For what you're thinking about doing to your current engine, you can buy the 3S-GTE- which is a Toyota-built engine. Then if you want to upgrade, aftermarket stuff will be abundant. Think around the lines of 300+ horsepower for not that much money (relatively speaking). Also, this engine was only made with a manual transmission, but don't fret. The Camry V6's automatic transmission can be used on it. It has the same bolt pattern and bolts up perfectly.
