93 Toyota Tercel right outer tie rod replacement do I necessarily have to get a wheel alignment?

Default 93 Toyota Tercel right outer tie rod replacement do I necessarily have to get a wheel alignment?
I know it would be a good idea but money is tight. Also, I can do minor mechanical repairs like brake jobs and maintenance. Do you think I could put the car on a jack stand and replace the outer tie rod myself??? Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated.

you can get it pretty close if you count the threads when taking it off. then count the same number of the threads when your putting the new tie rod on.

Make a "feeler gauge" with a piece of wood dowel.Put one end next to the balljoint stud and the other end next to the steering rack.Trim the dowel with a pencil sharpener.Smart people have already made their feeler gauge after a fresh alignment.The old balljoint may spin in the socket so remove the boot and hold the ball with pliers.
