Default I have a 2008 Toyota Camry with a vibration when braking.?
Car has 75,000 miles and the Toyota dealership just suggested machining the rotors, as brake pads are still in good condition. Should I trust his judgement?

yes, he's being honest. a vibration when braking typically indicates a warped/misshapen rotor. However, sometimes if you machine the rotors and leave the same brake pads on, it can cause noise and squealing. If this occurs, you'll simply have to replace the pads if the noise is annoying.

He's giving you the correct answer. Rather than machine them tell him to put new ones on. They're cheap when purchased in the aftermarket.

The vibration you are feeling is a warp in the rotor. it is cheaper to get new rotors than it is to machine them and they will last longer. Even if the brake pads appear to be in good condition that I do not recommend to reuse them. the reason i say that is the pads can form a glaze on them and because of that you will not have optimal stopping power, not to mention the pads may be wearing uneven. I am a mechanic at a used car dealership.

Toyotas have always had crappy rotors. Webbing rots and they warp. Do not replace with Toyota parts, buy good after market rotors
