The brakes are doing what they should. Slick roads and bumpy roads will cause this when you're braking the car. Watch out for stripes on the road- they are slicker than the rest of the road. Drive between the lines, not on them and watch getting too close to other drivers, creating the need to brake hard and suddenly. My 2010 Corolla only makes the ABS noise during panic stops or braking over pot holes and railroad tracks. It isn't very loud- just noticeable. Go to your dealer and have your car looked at. Your brakes should last about 40,000 miles or more. I doubt you have more than 10,000.
