Have you considered a 2002-2004 Civic Si? Those are pretty quick cars and they have the same engines as the base RSX- which is still pretty quick. Also, insurance will be a lot cheaper too. Other choices would be: Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V, Mazdaspeed Protege, Honda Prelude, Toyota Corolla XRS. I'm a diehard Toyota fan but if I would say that the 2004 RSX is a better car than the 2001 Celica GT. I'm not saying that because it's newer; the Acura is just sportier and the engine seems torun smooth at high revs and sounds nicer. Both are smooth running, but Toyota attempted to make the Celica more like the RSX that generation. They lost that special something that previous Celicas had and the engine was actually smaller than the previous generation GT's engine. The car is very reliable (like the RSX) but they failed at making it an equal. BTW, the Celica GT has 140 hp while the Base RSX has 160 hp.
