Connect the cables to the good battery first- red on positive and black on negative and be careful to not let the clamps on the other end of the cable touch each other and spark. First connect the red clamp on the battery positive terminal, then connect the black clamp on the engine block. Start the car with the good battery first, then try to start the car with the weak battery.
