Def go for the automatic version well it is a semi aut box so you get to drive it part manual also.
The automatics on the mk4 Supra in na and turbo version offered the higher spec.Toyota wanted those engines in Auto due to a heavy clutch etc that is why you see more forms of it and its brother engine sold in Supra's and other models in a automatic form.
The autobox is great fun and rapid, any comments of manuals being more fun may count against there Grandma's automatic mpv but not against a sporty oriented car which has been setup for instant power through the box.
Mileage wise na to turbo you are talking at around 22mpg on a main road on both as mpg on these cars is all but the same, town driving you may see around 18mpg.
But it is the type of cars they are i drive sporty cars atm i drive a Skyline and get 13mpg driving slow around town.
Fuel even on the na version only add a high octane fuel, that answer is through experience from other Supra owners and i help out at an import garage and that is the only fuel we will dd to those cars as any less has let to faults. And anyone whom is using the wrong fuel will be killing the car slower than others thats all.
Daily driving cars like these will drive you mad with the fuel cost, but if you can do it it is worth it just to drive a great car daily after all everyday you will have a smile.
