cheap way to make Celica louder?

hey guys, i have a 2002 celica GT and i want a cheap (free would be best) way to make it louder. i dont want to pay all the money for a new muffler, and someone mentioned just taking the muffler off, but i thought the whole idea there was to create the backflow so the engine doesnt backfire... any suggestions? is it advisable just to take the muffler off??

it's illegal to take the muffler off, and you'll probably melt your back bumper if you run it like that. if you want a fart muffler, expect to pay $200 or more.

Taking your muffler off purely for the loud, annoying sound is pathetic.

If you want to sound like all the other kiddies go buy a half assed fart can exhaust.

its not going to make it any faster. its a japanese car. they are underpowered and sound like sewing machines.

its already probably rusted through and full of exhaust leaks, so removing the muffler wont help you much.

as everyone else said. you can always get a ricer exhaust tip.
