how do you know when you need struts for your car?

Push down on one corner of the car. Normally, the car should push down, and rise back up. A car with completely shot dampers will bounce a bit; it'll go down, then up, then down, then up. That's because the car is bouncing on the springs, and the damper is not doing it's job of keeping things controlled.

car will get bouncy. do a bounce test push down on corner of car when you let go it should not bounce more than three times. if it does than your struts need to be replaced
