having a problem with an 06 toyota highlander?

i'm having accelaration problems with my highlander while driving in cruise control on level strechs of highway. while driving to the dealership to try and do something today it happened actually. as expected the dealership did nothing about it and said my only options were pay to have them run a diagnostic on the vehicle to find a the problem or try and trade out of it and due to the money issue of this vehicle would cost about $10000( this vehicle i'm in now was also another trade out of another problem vehicle that turned out to be a lemon. i'm also way upside down on the loan at about $25000 also due to the previses trade in).now after even calling toyota HQ and pretty much being told tough crap and my vehicle not being on the recall list and being in my opinion unsafe. i have to drive to from boston to tampa and then to denver in about 3 months and i'm not sure how safe or reliable this vehicle might be and i need it to be 100%. any advice would helpful thanks

Have the injection system cleaned and give it a good tune up as if there are no check engine lights on it will be hard to find.

what is the mileage on your vehicle, if its over 30K, then it needs....

fuel injectors & your air induction system cleaned

air filter replaced

spark plugs changed......most toyotas can go up to 80K or higher; those use iridium spark plugs...check before changing them

check your distributor cap and rotors as well

go ahead and get your PCV valve, o2 sensors

definitely get your throttle body and try getting your cam sensor checked.....
