To be honest if your going to pay a workshop to do it I wouldn't bother but If you found a friend or a friend of a friend to do the work for you there a couple of ways to make it cheaper. When you buy a clutch kit it usually comes with a pressure plate, clutch disc and thrust bearing. What could do is just replace the clutch disc and use some emery tape (sandpaper) to scratch the surface of the flywheel and pressure plate (As long as the pressure plates not cracked) to give the clutch disc something to grab too. A lot of mechanics might cringe reading this but mehhh it would work and would be the only way justifiable for me spend money on a old car.
