my truck wont start right away I have to turn the switch like 5 or 6 times.?

I go to start my truck and the lights come on and the truck doesn't start. i have checked the fuses the battery is good, the fuel filter is fine. I am lost?

My battery is at 16 amps so I know it is good. I was told it may be the starter wire not having a good connection. It makes a single click and then nothing. We have tried jumping it and no luck, after about 10 minutes of trying right when you want to give up it just starts out the blue.

The truck is a 1992 Toyota 4runner.

6cyl 3.0L 4 door 2wd

try turning on the key and letting fuel pump run for liek 5 seconds b4 u try starting it.....if it then fires first or second time means the regulator or other fuel system component is allowing fuel to drain away form engine when vehicle is off.....

my wag with no info is battery,,,how do u know its ok? the radio and lites work on 9 or 10 volts which will NOT run the starter

I would try putting the car in park, setting the emergency brake, then pumping the gas petal several times before you turn the key. Try this three or four times and if it does not work then pump the gas petal again and hold it on the floor when you turn the key. Just make sure you have the car in park and the emergency brake on.
