what does it mean when you hear a dragging noise in the rear of your car?

Default what does it mean when you hear a dragging noise in the rear of your car?
I have a 2000 Toyota Camry 4DR, 2.2L, 119K miles. it sounds as if like for example an empty carton of milk is stuck under the car and dragging but I looked under the car and saw nothing.

I'm guessing a bad rear wheel bearing. Toyota has had some trouble with those in the last decade or so.

A dragging sound is basically a rubbing sound. If there is nothing under your car being dragged, something is probably rubbing. Maybe a tire rubbing an inner fender or something of the like. I would check your clearance around your rear tires for starters.
