Default i have a 1990 toyota 4runner and i believe it wastes more gas than it should, any ideas?
i also have a 1990 ford f250, it has a v8 engine, it costs about $13 for a 45 minute drive. the 4runner is a v6 3.0 engine but it costs me about $16 for a 45 minute drive! any ideas why it could be like that?

If you have a automatic 4 runner the rear end has 373 gears...If it,s a 5 speed then it,s got 411 gears in the ring and pinon.Automatic first generation 6 cylinder engine never got great gas mileage in the first place...With the automatic and the sluggish 6 banger you are always on the gas..This is one reason you get bad fuel mileage...Larger tires on your truck doesn,t help either..
