Does 2ZZ-GE engine (XRS, Celica GTS) perform like 1ZZ-FE at low RPM?

The lift kicks in at high RPM, so I wonder if I drive a Celica GTS 180hp at low RPM, will it perform just like the slow Corolla,or Celica gt with the 1zzfe 140hp ? consider both cars have the same gear ratio.















OH sry for the confusion, I meant driving it normally < 3500 RPM, and not floor or red lined it.

There's the weight difference and the torque curve to consider.































What do you mean by perform the same? Cars aren't ment to be driven at low RPM so it's not really possible to consder this.































A Ferrari shifted at 2 Grand will seem slow.































Again it will perform however you want it too.































At slow speeds and low RPM 90% of cars "perform" the same. Because you aren't pushing it.































Take a 3.9 Second 0-60 Corvette and accelerate to 60 in 30 seconds.































Now do the same with a Ford Focus.































The performance seems the same because you've taken the same amount of time to do the same thing.































There's no way to measure the performance difference between 2 cars if you do the same thing in the same amount of time.































The only way to measure a car's true performance is to push it to the limit. Because when you need to accelerate faster the Corvette will be able too, while the Focus is already at it's max.

yea pretty much. they come with different gear ratios esp the 6 speed but for the most part they drive normal under 6k rpm. after 6k rpm the car is a new animal. they also have better intake manifold on the gts so there might be slightly more power/tq than a gt but no where near peak power. I get 38-40mpg on the highway in a gt-s 6 speed and bout 27-30 in the city which is slightly better mpg on the highway than a gt.

The GT-S will be a little bit faster since it has more torque and it weighs less then a corolla
