No, they didn't come with them until the next generation. You don't need airbags.

No, it didn't come with Airbags. Airbags often weren't standard on cars until after 1993-1995.































It's really hard to find them on vehicles before then. If you want something with driver and passenger airbags standard you have to look even newer.































Why do you need a car with Airbags?

No the 1988 does not have air bags. The 1991 model cam ewith a driver's side air bag and somewhere around 1993 or 1994 the passenger-side received an air bag too.

Nope. I think the first Toyota with an airbag was the 1990 Celica. then every year as new designs came out the airbags were migrated into the fleet.

Bet your mama insists you need airbags. Or your insurance co gives a discount.But safety in a crash comes from weight. And you're looking for the Highest power/weight ratio you can find for your meager budget. A 1990-on Celica has a driver airbag and the engine is in the front, offering an added degree of safety.
