2007 Toyota Yaris red coolant mixed with green coolant?

Hi i noticed my coolant level was low today, so went to the store bought a PEAK long life coolant. On the bottle it says "for all makes and models" and "mix with any color antifreeze" so i made it to 50/50 and added some. The coolant i have already in the car was red, and the PEAK coolant was green.

Later in the owner's manual, it says recommends toyota super long life coolant 50/50. Do you think PEAK will do the same job as red coolant?

Your Toyota uses a specific type of coolant that is only sold at the dealership and you are not supposed to mix it with different colored coolants. I highly recommend you get that coolant mix completely flushed out of your car and refilled with the Super Long Life Coolant Toyota specifies (I believe its pink in color). Don't risk major engine damage on a relatively new car.

I would get it flushed. Super long life is very expensive and is only for the 1st 100,000 miles. Once flushed we put in the red coolant(long life) unless a customer insists on the super long life.

First of all if the coolant was low you have a leak and it needs to be found and repaired. The pink coolant that comes in your car is good for 100,000 miles and now you have contaminated it so it should be changed at 30,000 now but it should be ok for now. The coolant will have to be changed to repair the leak anyway so put the pink stuff back in then. PS do not expect the overflow jar to stay full. It should be about 1/4 full with the engine cold, that is normal.
