no cabin air filter in the tercel. the stuff behind the glove compartment is the cooling element, heater core, and blower fan. to access all these you need to remove the dash, radio and e-brake console. its an easy project if you have two full days, a junkyard for parts and reference in case you screw up, and a lot of patience. the tubing for the vents could've come apart as well. each vent has its own independent plastic square tube where they all meet behind the a/c controls.
