My clock went bad in the car. it started randomly it was just off so i thought oh maybe a fuse or something.. but i took it to toyota and they told me the whole clock system it self went bad.. its like expensive to fix and i asked if nothing else is affected then forget about it. they said no its just a bad clock since there is no fuse and its keeping time s its no electrical..
but my Q is is this covered under like a warranty i mean the car isn't even 10 yr old?
Your car is past its warrenty, but just bring it into your toyota dealership it could be a quick simple fix such as a broken circuit or fuse. Worst case you would have to replace the clock unit which also shouldnt break your wallet too much.
It sounds to me like the clock is bad. The warranty on the clock was 3 years or 36,000 miles so that is LONG gone. The factory clocks are VERY expensive, I would just suggest finding some other way to tell the time.
