89 Celica GTS, Desperate!?

Default 89 Celica GTS, Desperate!?
I got this car about 2 weeks ago. It was driving fine and then today it started to rain so I decided to try to drift for a little bit. I did about 10 crappy drifts then I noticed my car died when it was in neutral.































I pulled it behind a store and at this point I noticed that it was making a loud rattling sound. So now when im pulling up to stop at a red light it died everytime (I have to adjust the idle) but on the highway I had absolutely no power. In 5th gear i could only get it up to 60. and the rattling noise gets faster and louder as i accelrate and it shakes my whole car.































Yes, i know, its my fault, i shouldnt have been drifting. Im a naive high school student so hopefully i didnt permantly mess up my new car so I know to not do this again. Can someone tell me if i F***** up my car??















It shakes when im sitting in neutral and when im going fast. The rattling gets really loud when i accelerate

Does your car shake violently only when moving, or if you throw it in neutral and rev it does it shake violently then, too?

Hard to say without a little inspection or information, but it sounds like you may have broken a connecting rod or dropped a valve. Especially if you were running it hard and it was low on oil. This would cause the rattling from stuff clanking around, and loss of power and shuddering from having a missing cylinder. Your best bet is to get it to a mechanic ASAP and at least have them check it out.

Oh, that's too bad. That's like the day I revved to the red line and dropped the clutch and, instead of the customary burn out, I got a loud snap thurrrr, bip bip klump and no more moving. The diff was destroyed.































It is possible to do top end damage revving the engine past the redline. Nobody watches the tach when they're drifting. Valves get messed up. Pull off the rocker cover and see which parts are sloppy with too much gap. Could be a bent valve causing low compression in a cylinder or two. Repairs- about $1500 or more.
