Ok, obviously the previous two answers would make your car uber-rice. If I were you, well, that's not a fair statement because I wouldn't buy a Corolla, but in any event, if I was to modify a Corolla, I'd do some research and find out what other cars share the engine. I took a couple minutes to look that up, and it looks like the 2009 Corolla S has a 2.4L DOHC VVT-i engine shared with the scion tC. So, as far as engine parts go, if it works on the Scion tC, it will work on the corolla. That means you can find headers, maybe cams and other more drastic things as well, including turbo kits. They might need to be adapted to fit your car as it's different from the tC, but it wouldn't be that radical of a change. Also, I would probably tend to do a good suspension on it (not just lower it, but use good quality parts, like coilovers from a reputable maker)., 16 or 17" wheels, keep the outside stock other than window tint and maybe (if it doesn't have it already) clear corner or marker lights. Keep the stock taillights. You can get a higher flowing exhaust made that isn't loud like 95% of ricers you see, but you have to get it custom made.
