1) if the car does not have keyless start then you will have to insert the key fob into the appropriate slot for it in the dash.
2) press foot on brake
3) push power button on dash
according to the 2nd generation prius, if the vehicle has the keyless feature, there will be a button under the stearing column labeled "key". that button activates and deactivates the keyless feature.
