Electric Power Steering on Toyota RAV4 question?

Default Electric Power Steering on Toyota RAV4 question?
My battery seems to have died (I might have left the lights on) and I jump started it but the steering sticks when I try to drive the car. The battery did not completely die as I had some lights and the doors unlocked with my automatic key. What I want to know is...does the steering act up if the battery is not good? The car just died on me when I tried to drive it but before it died the power steering went out.

Unfortunately Toyota is known for defective electric power steering mechanisms. It is not likely related to your battery, and is more likely the fault of defective power electric steering. Take it to a Toyota dealer, because since they now claim that they are spending a million dollars a day on quality, they should have no qualms about fixing your defective steering now should they? Try it and see.

recharge the battery or replace it and every thing will be ok
