Default 2003 toyota celica computer?
My 2003 toyota celica GT is throwing like 5 different codes from the check engine light. The repair shop said the computer probably needed to be calibrated or needed to be updated. I need to go to the toyota dealership for this, they told me $90 to diagnose the problem. And that they charge $90 per hour. Any idea how much total I could be looking at if I need a new computer or the updates? The repair shop said for Fords and GMC its probably $100-$200 but I know foreign made cars are a lot different...

Start with a different shop. Trouble codes have real meaning, involving faulty parts. Those trouble codes indicate engine misfire. I would put in a set of fresh spark plugs and turn off the check engine light, then drive and see if the problem went away. For about $10 you could do that. If the shop your where your car was seen didn't try that before recommending replacing a several hundred dollar computer and at least $90 for diagnosis, I would leave there as quickly as I could. If the car wasn't tuned up in 7 years, I'd simply do that - a new set of spark plugs, instead of throwing $300-$400 at the problem to only find out what they say it is.
