What is wrong with my 97 Corolla if the brake and headlights came on by themselves and started...
...honking? So i have a 97 toyota corolla. in the past 2-3 months the engine light has been on. my neighbor who is a mechanic put it through a diagnostic and told me it was a sensor. I didn't get it fixed bc I was low on cash. However, on a sunday the engine light came off out of nowhere. Monday morning I went to work and my boss calls me into the office. Apparently one of my co workers passed by my car and said that my car lights were on (headlight and brake lights) and that my car horn was honking. My boss lets me leave work for a bit just to turn that off so my battery doesn't die. I go out to my car and surely enough the lights are on and it is honking. Not only that, but the doors were all open. I disconnect the battery and it stopped. I took the car home that day and parked it in my garage. In the middle of the night, the same thing happens, however this time the car is not honking. Why would this happen all on its own and what can I do to correct the problem? Is it a major problem that needs to be fixed asap and the car not driven until it has been fixed? Could it be the original sensor problem it had? The sensor did go off on Sunday and then this problem arose. Although once before when the engine light was on it also happened minus the car horn going off. I would greatly appreciate your responses. Thanks
