Default 1988 toyota hilux..Are they good?
I ma looking at buying a 1988 toyota hilux 4wd 2.2litre petrol and was wondering if they were a very good 4wd? like do thier engine last well and what are the gearboxes like and if they are even worth buying? It has done 280,000kms and is pretty tidy he is selling it for $5000 is that a good deal?

It's not even worth half of that.































1988...and a 2.2 petrol... ie. 22year old and underpowered...

It is a bad deal with that many kms and year it should only be worth around $1500- $2000 (look on kijiji.ca) and i would recommend either a GMC or a Ford.

The Trucks are great trucks. The BBC's Top Gear TV show did a test on the Hilux. It was put through some grueling abuses and the Truck kept running- even when the frame was finally toast. However, $5,000 is ridiculous for one. I wouldn't pay that much for it even if it was in showroom condition with all of the options and half the miles.
