Default I have a Coleman Powermate 6250 (model: PM0545007.01) stops running?
I have a Coleman Powermate 6250 (model: PM0545007.01). I puchased at a garage sale. It starts on first pull but dies in just a few minutes of running and is able to start back up again right away, runs a few minutes (15 sometimes) and then dies. Sometimes it bogs down like its starvin for gas and back running sometimes also. I've pulled and drained the the gas tank, checked gas stop and filter ( no problems). I also pulled and thoroughly cleaned the carberator twice (which appears very clean already), added sea foam, changed oil, ran several gallons of fresh gasoline. When it starts to die i can adjust the choke and bring it back. Seems like fuel issue. Please Help!















Found problem, Low oil sensor was bad!

If your area has ethanol blend fuel see if you can get some that is ethanol free. E10 contains less BTUs per gallon so you need a larger jet in the carb for the proper mixture. You aren't supposed to run ethanol in anything without a charcoal canister and especially not in air cooled small engines, anything 2 stroke, and boats. This is because ethanol is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture) which is a good thing in a car with a sealed fuel system and a charcoal canister as it keeps water out of the fuel tank but in a lawn mower or generator it absorbs moisture out of the air as the tank "breathes" with temperature changes and the moisture damages components. It also causes the oil to not stay properly mixed in 2 stroke engines.































The end result of all of this is symptoms like you are seeing where the engine runs lean and dies and/or overheats.































If the ethanol isn't your problem and possibly even if it is check the intake gaskets in case there is a chance that one of them develops a leak only when the engine is hot.
