well where do you live? if you live up north like me, (south dakota, north dakota, minnesota area) then i would maybe get something all wheel drive unless u are going to do mostly city driving then the all-seasons should be fine.
Since FWD is almost as good as AWD in the snow I wouldn't spend the money just to get an AWD car just for winter.
Getting Tires is a much cheaper option.
AWD really won't gain you that much in the winter. On Ice it doesn't matter what you have. In some circumstances AWD can be helpful but the extra money you would need to spend really isn't worth it.
As for would it be a good idea? Depends on if there is a Market for it or not, how much it's going to cost, etc.
As it is the Camry sells so well and handles well enough in all weather conditions that there's really no need to spend the extra money to develop and AWD system.
Toyota makes the Venza which has AWD option. it is a similar size and platform to the Camry. it has a "hot hatch" look to it. Toyota used to make AWD Camrys 15 or so years ago and Tercels and Corollas too - but abandoned that segment of the market for some reason.
