Combustion blowby the rings causes pressure in the crank case. Quite natural to a certain point. The PCV valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) is supposed to relieve the pressure to the intake manifold and re-burn the crankcase blowby gases. Make sure PCV valve not stuck or plugged. Worn rings may give excessive blowby - higher pressures. There is a compression leakdown test that can tell if ring wear and blowby is too high.
