07 RAV4 - Rotten Egg Smell?

Default 07 RAV4 - Rotten Egg Smell?
I own a 2007 Toyota RAV4 V6 that emits intermittent odor (mostly at heavy acceleration) that was diagnosed at the dealership as excessive sulfur dioxide. I`m told by the shop forman it is due to cat converter, however Toyota will not authorize a replacement. Also, his attempt to contact Toyota technical team has resulted into a dead stop. All they have done so far is generate a case #. Do I have an option other than calling the Toyota 800 number? Thank you.

Judging by the 07 reg. ,you obviously have no warranty on the vehicle, if you can't get any satisfaction from the dealer and you are a member of the AA or RAC, contact them and see if they can help, other than that, your only recourse is to get in touch with your local Trading Standards office and put the problem to them.

Catalytic converters on vehicles built after 1995 are warranted for eight years or 80,000 miles.















Director, Field Operation and Support Division (6406J) EPA 401 M Street Southwest Washington, DC 20460, try to not pass a smog check leave gas cap un locked so on then go to dealer to fix the problem all fail lemon law money back.
