i have a toyota 4 runner 1996 engine can not acelerate more than 2500 rpm, ground pulsations end when aceleration is over 2500 rpm, there is no code in car computer, pulsations are already checked by a mechanic, all parameters in data live scanner are fine, withing normal ranges, the questionis: Should i think that the computer may be the main cause of this failure????

So you took it to a Mechanic and they couldn't tell you what the problem is?

Does the transmission shift? or does it just stay stuck in first gear at 2,500 RPM?

Something could be stuck on the throttle cable preventing it from opening up all the way and letting the engine rev up all the way. Can you manually rev the motor up from the TPS?

Have you checked timing, if it jumped a tooth on the timing belt it could cause a lack of RPM.

You may also have a plugged exhaust which will cause the symptoms you are describing.

I am assuming by "ground pulsations" you are referring to the pulsations to your fuel injectors. My guess is that you have a shorted or broken throttle position sensor. If the computer thinks the throttle is CLOSED at 2500 rpm it is supposed to turn the injectors off to save gas, pollution etc. The computer is NOT the problem and I bet you will find a problem with the throttle position data if you look a little closer.
