Default i am thinking of buying an '04 toyota 4runner with 84k miles on it, how long do they last?
I am uneasy about buying a car with that many miles on it. How long do 4runners last and would it be a good investment for me?

The 4Runner received 10 out of 10 rating from JD Powers, its as reliable as a vehicle can get. All 4Runners are made in Japan and were not affected by any recent recalls. 84K miles is low mileage if the vehicle was properly maintained. You can generally tell right away how much the previous owner cared about the vehicle.

Most well maintained Toyotas will give you appx 200,000 thousand miles or so on an engine if taken care of. 74k on a 4Runner is barely broken in.

Wow... 84k is nothing. Most cars now last up to 250k + or more. As technology gets better so dose reliability. And the previous 4 runners are still running with 200k miles.
