What would cause the power door locks to not lock with the key remote or the switch?

2002 Toyota 4 Runner unlock works fine

the lock button on the remote might be broke.































you will know for sure if you can unlock/lock the doors with the car switch inside the car.

FIRST thing to check will be the fuse. Most likely, this is the problem.

Either the fuse (that locks the doors via power assist) is busted, the battery in the key fob is running on empty, or the contact points for the "lock" feature in the key fob are worn out.
