Mark 3 Toyota MR2 / MRS safety question - No roll bar?

Hullo!

I am thinking about buying a 2003 onwards Toyota MR2 later in the year and just had a thought -

The car doesn't seem to have any kind of roll bar like some soft-tops do.

Here's the MR2:

Without any kind of structural safety around the headrests like the Z4 has, would this mean in the event of rolling the car, my head would be squashed, rendering me dead?

I don't plan on rolling my car, but then again no one ever does eh!

P.S I have seen aftermarket roll bars fitted to some MR2s, although I'm guessing with that fitted you can't use the removable hard top - correct me if I'm wrong!

Let me put it this way... if you found a way to make that Car roll over. A roll Bar wouldn't save you.

Also the windshield is structurally reinforced to help protect you in the event of a rollover.

Cars rolling over is very rare and happens only in extreme cases. When it does happen, it's usually fatal even if you aren't driving a Convertible.

If you were to put in an Aftermarket Roll Bar it should work with the Hard Top.

But remember, Toyota designed the car without Roll Bars and it passed all government Mandated safety checks for accidents.

Lots of Convertibles don't have Roll Bars, Corvette, M3, etc.

Ignore the Troll. If he thinks that someone gets into an accident and dies, then it's the Automaker's fault. Then all Automakers are liable for millions of Deaths.
