The word is "Coordination" not "amalgamation".
All Federal Court actions from across the country have been coordinated before U.S. District Judge James Selna in Santa Ana, Ca. under Federal Multidistrict Litigation rules.
However, this does not affect actions filed in various state courts around the country. For example, state court actions pending in California have been coordinated before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Carl West. Other states will follow their own rules.
Edit to Add: "Amalgamate" is NOT a legal term with a specific statutory meaning. "Coordinate" IS a legal term of art, defined by statute, that has a specific meaning and usage in state and federal law. Also, "Amalgamate" is closer to a very different legal term, "Consolidate". "Coordinate" DOES NOT MEAN combine, rather it means handled together as a group, due to common issues and through the use of common procedures. "Consolidate" means combined to be handled as one case, which would be closer to the meaning of amalgamate, but that is NOT what is being done here.
