bad odor in toyota camry?

i have a 2000 toyota camry. i had it for almost a year now. it was passed on to me from my sister. recently when i use the ac and heater or drive for a bit. my car starts to smell somewhat like roadkill inside the car. on the outside it would smell like burning metal. plz help me get ride of the smell becuze its summer and when i use the ac it smells bad.

start putting deoderant on in the morning.

check under the hud! c if there is anything dead under it round the engen

Couple of things . You may have to take apart the a/c box and make sure a mouse or rat hasnt built a nest in it. been known to happen. another thing - especially in humid climates the water condenste that forms on the evaporator may cause mold to grow. This will cause a dirty socks or dirty sneakers smell. Need to kill the mold with some spray for that condition. check w/ a/c shop or local auto parts store.

to avoid the mold - turn off the a/c compressor before arriving at your destination maybe a mile or so - let fan run. Make sure to be in "fresh air" mode and when stopping move heat control to middle or increase temp setting which will open the internal doors so the box can "dry out".

i dont know why it would smell like burning metal? i am not sure what "burning metal" (unless you are welding!) smells like? Metal usually doesnt burn.
