Default Are 4x4 Tacomas with diff locks nearly as good as Jeep Rubicons off road?
For most off-road situations? Assuming both are 100% stock and not lifted or built up. I've heard that Rubis are better because they have shorter wheelbase and better approach/departure angles, but then I have also heard that Tacomas have way lower center of gravity and aren't as likely to roll or end-o. Has anyone wheeled with both and compared capabilities of the two?

i would stick with the jeep/jeep invented it/those toyotas are nice looking/put a dress on it/something pink

Not even close...The jeep has better axles,transfer case the works,,,It,s basically as advertised trail ready....The tacoma with independent front end cannot keep up with the rubicon unless highly modified...Don,t get me wrong they are great trucks....But the tacoma is not really a trail ready truck....I,ve had two and they do wheel great but you are comparing apples to oranges...

There is really no comparison, the Jeep is the only vehicle I'd want with me in any hardcore off-roading scenario.
