What engine model is in my car?

Default What engine model is in my car?
I'm just curious as to what engine is in my car. I bought a '95 Toyota Celica GT Liftback, but the previous owner said that the engine was swapped for a lower mileage one and didn't know what year. The model that I have usually comes with either a 1.8L or 2.2L, and instead I have a 2.0L. I've been told it's from a GT-S, but as far as I know, there is no American '95 GT-S, so would the engine be from a '90-'93 model?

wikipedia it, usually have all engine models made and stuff on there. hope it helps

i would be a bit wary about buying it as if the engine has been changed it would suggest it has had a hard life and other parts are going to need replacement.















this could turn out to be an expensive love affair.

the 1989-1993 celica gt-s had a 2.2L also but there was a 2.0L that came in the european version one that was turbo and one that was not. 3s-ge/3s-fe and 3s-gte.































the 2000-2005 celica gt-s and gt only had 1.8L.















































try to find a engine code/model on the block itself.
