Default Can a well maintained Camry with 255,000 miles make a 1,600 mile road trip?
Driving from New England to the Carolinas... 860 miles one way.































tires are 8 months old and just got rotated. Got an oil change yesterday. Having my mechanic give it a once over. The only thing wrong with it is that I have a frozen caliper pin and the brakes are a little spongy but are ok. Advice? Opinions?

The brake issues need to be resolved. A frozen pin can cause the caliper to lock and cause a wreck. Get the brakes serviced, and your camry will have no trouble making a 1600-mile jog.

Get the brake fix and you will be fine. There is no worst situation then the car won't stop. Enjoy your trip!

I'd be confident with it if you fixed the breaks and the car had 355,000 miles on it. You should be fine. If it's been maintained you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Fix the brakes, other than that you're good to go. I drive a previously poorly maintained (first 198k miles of its life) 1993 Toyota truck 45 miles each way to work 5 days a week with 229k currently on it.

Brakes are a safety issue and another GOOD REASON to pay and have your mechanic fix your brakes before you go is if you breakdown and need repair on the road or out of state, there is some probabilty they pay charge you more and find other things wrong because you are passing through and dishonest ones who need the cash might be your worse nightmare.

fix the brakes and you are good to go i drive from indianapolis to atlanta 4 times a year with my 1995 camry its got 226000 on the odo
