98 Camry spark plug question?

Default 98 Camry spark plug question?
This car has 2.2 litre engine. The plugs from factory was a dual tip electrode #3452 plug. On the timing cover it says only use a dual tipped spark plug. What would it hurt if anything to use a G power (platinum) spark plug (#7092)? What is the purpose of the dual tip? Electricity is going to take the quickest way to ground anyway. I figure its just for longer change intervals.

That information is printed on there as a suggestion to get you to buy their product (at their price by the way). You are correct the spark will find the shortest route just as in the split fire plugs that are no better than a single point plug but cost ten times as much. Longer change intervals do not apply as the center electrode will still wear down in the same time frame.

you also can buy dual tips cheap at auto part store, don't ever buy from dealers.... same parts and same manufacture anyway but the price will kill you, don't do like I did....

No it will not hurt it.















The important thing is to keep the new plug in the same heat range















as the older one. Heat range is affected by multiple things from the design to the gap of the plug.































I all ways recommend Denso, or NGK for for Toyotas.















I've run them in MANY Toyota cars/trucks with out a single problem.































And yes, I've run them in the Toyota 2.2 Engines.
