loose ground or your relay is acting up.

Once surprisingly our mechanic showed us the headlight lens had suffered a pinhole crack from a rock and water had seep inside and was shorting the bulb. The whole headlight unit was rather expensive but was covered by our auto insurance less deductible under comprehensive coverage similar to a rock hitting your windshield...

if you were to hit it but not too hard it may fix it or you may need a new light
